As you know, no one has a monopoly on great seamstresses. They may be found through bridal stores, fabric stores, referrals from friends, your cleaners and so on.

Because few of us are really familiar with what goes into altering clothes and because some folks charge such exorbitant prices, we thought you'd like a list of fair prices for bridal alterations.

These are considered "Standard Charges" based on national averages. They are not set in stone. They may be higher in some parts of the country and lower in others. We suggest you print this list out and take it with you to your fittings.
