engagement rings?

hello all, im new to this fourm. my boyfriend thought all ladys thinking that its best to have engagment rings when spending a fortune on them and with a big rock on them though iv been trying to show him which kind of rings im interested in and was thinking does it have to say "engagment ring" with the rings in the shop or can any ring be called an engagment ring? thanks

I think you can do anything you would like. Who cares if it says engagement on it in the store. Just make sure you get the biggest diamond out of him lol j/k
