I could sure use some advise and/or suggestions on how to get mine and my future husband's parents to understand and accept our plans for the nontraditional wedding service we want. You see have never liked and have never been comfortable in a dress or a skirt and I cringe at the thought of wearing a wedding gown. On the other hand my future husband actually prefers to wear skirts and dresses so we decided to reverse our wedding attire and I will wear a suit or tux and he will wear a wedding gown. Our church is accepting of our wishes and we have found a bridal shop that is excited about helping my future husband find a gown. Some of our immediate family is accepting of our choises and are supportive of us but our parents still refuse to accept this and attent our wedding service. I know that this is a very odd situation but if any of you have any positive sugestions or advise as to how we can explain and help our parents understand and accept our wishes I would be so very greatful.
Sincerely,
A Tearful 'Bride'
