How many layers do you need to have that front part come over your face? What's a good length for the veil. I don't want it to take anything away from the gown.

I was thinking of haveing a veil in the back with a comb, falling to the floor? It's going to be a beach Wedding so I thought it would be nice!
I would say you should have 3 layers maybe? One over your face, and two other pieces to make the veil?
Good question!

depends on your dress and the formality of it. casual to semi formal can be longer than the dress. Not to many layers. depends on if you want it higha nd pouffy or low and simple. comb or no comb. tiara, no tiara. hat. so many choices. try several lengths and see what you like.

Mine is in 3 tiers. I wanted a big veil worn high up on my head but I don't like the first tier or the 'blush' as its known as its scalloped and looks strange over my face! Therefore I'm wearing it all off my face with the 3 layers of scalloping and diamante down the back of my dress, which is plain so it'll add something to the overall look from behind I'm sure.

For this you need at least 2 layers to your veil: one is the blusher and the other is the veil. You can have more if you like; that is personal preference. I have posted about choosing a veil in the other topic and some of that info might also be of help to you!
