Anyone want to wear a color other than any shade of white?

my wedding date is 8/19/06 and my dream is to wear a dress that is deep, ruby cranberry red and i keep getting strange looks and snide comments especially from my soon to be inlaws and my maid of honor. can anyone relate?

You can wear whatever you colour you like! Why not. It's your day and follow your dreams. if your Fiance loves the idea, then follow your heart.

Hey... I think it's a great idea as long as you love the dress! It's your wedding and there will always be someone that may not like your dress... but it's your day to shine! I also love colourful dresses... found a beautiful Fuschia dress by Maggie Sottero that I loved ... my mother on the otherhand who is very traditional didn't like the idea of such a colourful dress. I still haven't decided and I'm running out of time to choose my dress as my wedding is in July! It's been hard trying to find the right dress and I was doubting my choice of the fuschia dress wondering if i'd regret not wearing white... But after trying on some dresses we (my sister, mum & I) decided that white really wasn't my colour so now we've been looking at ivory/expresso & gold dresses! I hope you have better luck than me dress shopping... I'm all dressed out!!!

I agree, I guess you can really wear whatever colour dress you like. Although, there is always the chance that you will look back years down the track and say, what was I thinking?? Perhaps, look at an ivory coloured dress or even a rose ivory which is nice. I am steering away from the traditional white as ivory looks much better with my skin tones. It's up to you - I'm sure you will look wonderful whatever you decide :)
