View Full Version : How big is your wedding???

We are going to invite around 200-280 guests. I guess I just think that going over 300 is losing control. What are you guys doing? I'm almost thinking a small wedding with 100 or less would be the best.

I don't get big weddings...aren't a lot of those strangers?

I really don't want more than about 8 people there. Only family who truely love me and actually give a darn if I'm forming a happy union that will result in a great life.
Strangers would have to PAY me to have the right to see my wedding.

Yup, I know this is a very unusual view of it.

not so unusual. between my fince' and i the guest list consists of about 120 people and that's all immediate family, cousins aunts uncles neices nephews mothers daughters brothers and sisters in law and all. to actually add our close friends and closest co-workers would easily push the guest list to almost two hundred. not to say that all the people would show up, but we are sending out invites anyway. small wedding can be just as beautiful, but when you get to start adding people you just met or those who can take a flying leap, then it turns out to be a circus.

That's what I'm talking about. Man the people start to add up fast with 2 families and friends. We are going to have to hold it down at 280.

We had invited 280 and got about 230 I think. There was a lot of people, which was a little intimidating when walking down the aisle, but the more the merrier

We invited about 150 and had around 100 show up. If anyone is planning a wedding over 100, I would strongly suggest having the gusts send back cards saying if they want to come or not. My sister ended up inviting around 600 people because of all the different churches and activities she and her fiance were involved in. They maybe had half of them show up. We were stuck with cake for months!!!
