Default Who's paying for what?

Who's paying for what?

Did you know that an average wedding designed for 200 guests maximum can costs around $20,000?

That maybe a lot especially for average couples. Studies show that the first step in planning a wedding is determining who's paying for what to avoid disagreements during the planning stage and possible misunderstanding between couples.

In the US, the following are the expenses usually paid by the bride and her family:

Wedding gown, accessories, and shoes
Wedding invitations
Bridal consultant's fee
Videography
Photography
Ceremony and reception costs
Gifts to the flowergirls and bridesmaids
Transportation and/or accommodations for the bride's family, flowergirls, and bridesmaids
On the other hand, the groom and his family will normally shoulder the following:

Groom's attire including shoes and other accessories
Groomsmen and ushers attire
Wedding and engagement rings
Transportation and/or accommodations for the ushers, groomsmen, and groom's family.
Honeymoon expenses
Rehearsal and bachelor dinners.
Marriage license, physical exams, and blood tests costs
Happy Planning!!

Default wedding beauty tips

Every bride would like to look their best on their wedding day. Here are some tips on how you can prepare yourself and look stunning on your big day:

A couple of months before your wedding, join a gym or exercise regularly especially if you think you have to lose a couple of pounds to fit in your dream wedding gown.
If you are not yet doing it, then start drinking 8 glasses of water everyday. This will flush the toxins out of your body and will make your skin clearer and smoother.
Get a facial treatment at least once every month to remove dead skin cells to make the skin glow.
Take care of your nails by getting manicures and pedicures every couple of weeks.
Look for the best make up artist and hairstylist in town at least 4 months before the wedding date. Do not forget to do trial run.
If you need to color or cut your hair, do it at least 4 weeks before the wedding. You do not want other people not to recognize you on your big day, don't you?
Look beautiful and feel beautiful on your wedding day!

Default Wedding budget tips

Here are some wedding budget tips that you may want to consider:

1. Apply the laws of supply and demand. The prices goes up during wedding peak season which is usually around the last 2 quarters of the year. All wedding professionals are usually fully booked and they're fee is higher than the usual. Schedule the wedding between January-March. You may want to avoid the Valentine's day or other occassions that bring the prices of flowers higher.

2. Go for morning reception. The biggest part of the wedding budget usually goes to the food. Serving the guest with breakfast or brunch is a lot cheaper than serving them dinner. Also, there is no need to serve wine or other alcoholic drinks in the morning which can also be expensive.

3. Find a free or low-cost location. Get married somewhere that doesn't charge much. Your lawn or your rich friend's lawn can be a great venue especially during the summer.

4. Shop for the wedding gown wisely. Budget-conscious couples need not to go to designer boutiques to get the best wedding gown in town. Some of the great gowns can be found online and they are surprisingly cheap. Also, you can also look for pre-owned designer gowns that are usually being sold for half the price.

5. Ask friends and family for help. A creative friend or cousin can do your wedding invitations or give-aways without spending too much. Make use of their skills and just pay for the materials they'll be using. I am sure that they will be more than happy to help make your big day a special one.

6. Limit your guests. This can be easier said than done since all of your friends, acquaintances, co-workers, family members, relatives, etc. are expecting to get invited. Be sure to make everybody understand that you are planning on a strict budget. You may also tell them that it's a very intimate wedding and they would surely understand.

Default Who pays for what

We are both paying for it, but I am sure the in laws and my mum will help out.

We have budgeted at £3,500.

the reception buffet for 100 guests is £2,000 and we get sole use of the pub.
Which is fab

I think it's much more responsible to split the costs of the wedding. Times are changing now.
